In honor of my birthday, I thought I would share one of my favorite cakes since I was a child.
Heath Poke Cake
Ingredients
1 box german chocolate cake mix/plus eggs and oil required on back of the box
1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
1 16 oz jar caramel topping
1 8 oz ctn cool whip, thawed
1 bag chocolate-covered toffee bits
Directions
- Make the cake in a 9×13 pan according to package directions
- Let cool for about an hour
- Poke holes in the cake using the handle of a wooden spoon
- In a separate bowl mix condensed milk and caramel
- Pour mixture over top of cake
- Place in refrigerator and let soak at least one hour to overnight
- Remove cake from fridge and spread cool whip over cake
- Sprinkle toffee bits on top and serve
