An interesting combination, but I love the contrast of the savory meat and the sweet juice. We usually don’t have any leftovers of this, and in my house, that’s a good sign.

Apple Sausage Pasta

Ingredients

  • 4 cups dry bow tie pasta

  • 1 pkg bratwurst

  • 1 bell pepper, diced

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 1 tsp garlic, chopped

  • 6 oz. apple juice concentrate

  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch

  • 2 Tbsp water

Directions

  • Cook dry pasta according to package directions
  • Slice bratwurst into chunks and sear in pan
  • (I like to remove the casing, but not required)
  • Add pepper, onion, and garlic
  • Add juice and simmer until meat is cooked through
  • In a small bowl mix cornstarch and water
  • Add cornstarch mixture to meat mixture to thicken
  • Drain pasta and stir in with meat and sauce
